4 days Uganda gorilla and golden monkey trekking safari takes you Uganda’ rainforests and offers you the opportunity to encounter both the mountain gorillas and golden monkeys in the unique Mgahinga gorilla national park in the south western region of the country in Kisoro district; the park borders with Rwanda and then Democratic Republic of Congo.
You will be fascinated by Mgahinga gorilla national park that is a stunning hiking and if you want to extend you safari you can get to hiking the Volcanoes namely Muhavura, Gahinga and Sabyinyo and this takes you a full day hike to the top. The park is also known for the Batwa people that were the first people to inhabit the area and used to live together with the mountain gorillas in the forest to where you can interact that gives you unforgettable safari memories.

Day 1: Transfer to Mgahinga gorilla national park.
On the 1st day of the safari, depending on your location you will picked by our company representative either from your hotel in Kampala or from Entebbe International Airport, then he will brief you about the 4 days Uganda gorilla and golden monkey trekking safari. After the briefing you will start on your journey to the south western part of Uganda and make a stopover at the equator to take pictures, have equator experience, and taking a cup of coffee. After you will continue with your journey that will take you from 8 to 9 hours, you will drive heading to Mbarara town to where you will have lunch en-route. After the en-route lunch you will continue driving to Mgahinga gorilla national park through passing stunning views of the rolling hills, beautiful landscapes while enjoying the best and winding roads. Upon your arrival you will check in your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Mgahinga gorilla national park.
On the 2nd of the safari, wake up early in the morning with your packed lunch and then meet your safari guide and then transfer to the park headquarters for the briefing point inside the park to know about the rules and regulations about gorilla trekking in the forest by the experienced park rangers and guides. After the briefing you will be grouped in different groups of 8 members and then each group will be led experienced guides and the activity takes a period of about 30 minutes to 6 hours, while looking for the gorillas you will sight the various biodiversity in the park.
And once the gorillas are located you will spend one in the presence of the gorillas that is observing them while interacting with each other, watching them feeding, watching them playing, taking them pictures, recording their movies and among others. After gorilla trekking you will be transferred to the starting point and then be awarded with the gorilla trekking certificates for taking part in gorilla trekking. After you will be transferred to your lodge and then refresh up and later you will go for the Batwa cultural experience to where you will interact with the Batwa people, watching them doing daily activities and among others. After the experience you will be transferred to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 3: Golden monkey trekking in Mgahinga gorilla national park.
On the 3rd of the safari, wake up early in the morning and then enjoy your breakfast, after breakfast, you will meet your safari driver and then drive to the park headquarters for the briefing point about golden monkey trekking by the skilled ranger guide who will share with you the information about what to expect in the Virunga volcanoes trekking for the unique golden monkeys.
After the briefing you will start hiking while looking for the golden monkeys, and along the way you will spot the attractive species that makes the activity impressive. Golden monkey trekking can take a period of about 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on their location as this is where you will follow according to how they feed, and once you find them you will be given a period of one hour to be in their presence that is seeing them climbing trees, playing, feeding, and among many others. After the experience you will transfer back to your lodge for relaxation for tomorrow’s journey back to Kampala an then later be served with dinner, then overnight stay.
Day 4: Departure.
On the final day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy your breakfast, and after breakfast you will check out from your lodge and then meet your safari driver and then start on your journey to Kampala, with the en-route in Mbarara, after lunch you will drive until in Kampala and then upon your arrival your safari guide will drive you to your convenient place either to your hotel in Kampala or to Entebbe International Airport for your flight back home that will bring your safari come to the end.
