Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park.
Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise at Kazinga channel.
Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking and transfer to Lake Mburo national park.
Day 4: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise in Lake Mburo national park.
Day 5: Transfer to Kampala/Entebbe.
Detailed itinerary.
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park.
Upon your arrival or depending on your location, your safari guide will pick you and then brief you about the safari. After the briefing you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park that is located in the western part of the country and this takes you about 6 to 7 hours’ drive while using Masaka road, with the stopover at the equator for taking pictures, and having equator experience. Later you will proceed with the en-route lunch in Mbarara. And later you proceed with your journey with the wonderful views of the stunning features and once you arrive, you will enjoy the en-route game viewing until you reach to your lodge. Upon your arrival you will check in your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise at Kazinga channel.
On the 2nd day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy your breakfast, after breakfast you will meet your safari guide and then transfer to the park to sight the early risers, the game drive is such perfect that takes you to the verdant savannah plains to where you will sight the big four mammals of the big five mammals that includes the lions, buffaloes, leopards and elephants, as well as other mammals during the experience, without forgetting the bird species. After the game drive you will transfer to your lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will return back to the park to see the various animal species and then the bird species that you missed during the morning game drive in the park; after the game drive you will drive back to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking and transfer to Lake Mburo national park.
After breakfast, you will meet your safari guide and then transfer to Kyambura gorge for the chimpanzee tracking in Queen Elizabeth national park with all your respective tracking gears, you will first receive a briefing about the rules, regulations to follow during chimpanzee tracking. After you will explore the forests with the experienced trackers and then rangers to look for the chimpanzees’ along the way you will spot other attractions like olive baboons, white and black colobus monkeys and among others without forgetting the various bird species. Although hiking the Kyambura gorge steep slopes while looking for the chimpanzees is challenging but after finding them is such worth it, this is where you will be given one hour in their presence that is watching them feed, playing, breastfeeding, grooming, as you take their pictures and recording the best moments. After the experience you will trek back and then transfer to your lodge for lunch.
After one hour in the presence of the gorillas you will connect back to refresh at the lodge and enjoy your lunch. After lunch you will check out from the lodge and meet your safari driver and then start on your journey to Lake Mburo national park that takes you approximately 4 hours’ drive and then upon your arrival you will connect to your lodge with the en-route game viewing and then check in your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 4: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise in Lake Mburo national park.
After an early breakfast, you will meet your safari guide and go to the park for the morning game drive to search for the great and stunning animal species in the park that includes the zebras, antelopes, impalas, buffaloes, elands, topis and others, and the large numbers of the bird species. After the experience you will go back for the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will connect back for the afternoon boat cruise on Lake Mburo to explore the various water animals namely crocodiles, hippos, and other animals along the Lake shores to drink water and spotting various bird species like rare shoebill storks, African fish eagles and many more. After the experience you will transfer back to the lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 5: Transfer to Kampala/Entebbe.
After breakfast, check out from your lodge and then meet your driver and then begin your journey to Kampala with the perfect views along the way, you will have en-route lunch at the equator, after lunch proceed with your journey until you reach Kampala and your safari guide will drop you off at your preferred location that will bring your safari to the end.
