Detailed itinerary.

Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo for the afternoon boat cruise.

On the 1st day of the safari, your safari guide from African Vacation Safaris will pick you from preferred destination that is Entebbe International Park or from your hotel in Kampala. After he will welcome you about the safari and give you an introduction of the safari. After you will head to Lake Mburo National Park. You will enjoy the scenic drive that takes you through the heart of Uganda’s countryside, offering breathtaking views of the rugged landscape, dotted with banana plantations, maize fields, and grazing cattle,. Along the way you will make a stopover at the equator to where you can take in the significance of this geographic landmark and take pictures at the iconic marker. After you will proceed with your journey to park as you get towards the park you will see the majestic long-horned cattle in the beautiful landscape. And upon your arrival you will check in your lodge and be served with lunch.

After lunch you will be transferred for the afternoon boat cruise on the popularly Lake Mburo. During the experience you will enjoy the diverse sighting of the animal species hippos, crocodiles, antelopes and among others and bird species like kingfishers, fish eagles, egrets along the lake shores that offers you the unforgettable safari memories. After the experience you will be transferred back to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 2: Morning game drive and depart to Bwindi impenetrable national park.

On the 2nd day of the safari, wake up early in the morning at around 6:00am and meet your safari guide and go for the morning game drive to sight the early risers for example like impalas, elands, klipspringers, zebras, buffaloes, warthogs, leopards, bushbucks, hyenas, jackals, topis and among others without forgetting bird species like Grey-crowned crane, Ross’s Turaco, African Wattled Lapwing, Crested Francolins, Brown-chested Lapwing, Saddle-billed Stork, African finfoot, Papyrus Yellow Warbler, Cinnamon-chested Bee-eater, African Finfoot, Papyrus Gonolek, Black-headed Gonolek and among others. After the experience you will head to you accommodation and then be served with breakfast, and then check out and proceed with your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable national park. Along the way you will have a stopover and have an enroute lunch, and embark on your journey until you reach the park with the perfect views of the rolling hills, attractive roads in the magnificent landscape. And once you arrive you will check in your lodge and be served with dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking and Batwa cultural tours in Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park.

On the 3rd day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy breakfast. After breakfast you will carry your lunch, and meet your safari guide with your packed lunch and he will transfer you to the park’s headquarters for the gorilla trekking briefing of the rules and regulations to follow by the experienced park ranger and guides. After the briefing you will be allocated a gorilla family to trek and a park guide who is knowledgeable about the mountain gorillas and also conversant with the various gorilla trekking traits. Gorilla trekking takes a period of about 30 minutes to 5 hours depending on the location of the gorillas. During gorilla trekking you will be impressed with the diverse spotting of various biodiversity and once the mountain gorillas are spotted you be given a period of one hour to be in the presence of the gorillas, that is watching them feeding, playing, breastfeeding, mothers grooming their young ones, taking pictures and recording their videos and among others.

After the experience you will be transferred back to the starting point to where you will be will receive the gorilla trekking certificates for taking part in gorilla trekking. After the experience depending on your preference you will go for the Batwa tours that will offer you unique and immersive cultural experience allowing the visitors to explore the traditional way of life of the Batwa people, the experience will be led by the Batwa guides, the tours take you through the forest, where you will learn about their ancient hunting and gathering practices, traditional medicine, and sacred rituals. You will visit the Batwa community, to where you can engage with the locals, learn about their history and customs, and support their cultural heritage. The tour provides a fascinating glimpse into the Batwa’s rich cultural identity and offers a chance to contribute to their economic empowerment. After the experience you will be transferred to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park.

On the 4th day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy your delicious breakfast. After breakfast you will check out from your lodge and meet your safari guide and then embark on your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park with the stunning views. As you reach the park you will enter through the Ishasha, this is where you will make a stopover to see the attractive and famous tree climbing lions and then after you will be transferred to your lodge and be served with lunch. After lunch you will transfer to Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth national park, this is where you will have the brief game viewing drive and then spot the great large number of wildlife; and then after the experience you will transfer to your lodge and then check in your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 5: Game drive and boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth national park.

On the 5th day after the breakfast, meet your safari guide and then drive to the park for the morning game drive to spot the early risers like lions, elephants, and many others through the major game trails with the wonderful view of the Rwenzori Mountains during the clear moments, and various bird species. After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch you will return back for the afternoon boat cruise to where you will spot the different water species like large schools of hippos, crocodiles, and various water bird species like African fish eagles, Yellow bellied stork, cormorants, and among others. After the experience you will transfer to the lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 6: Transfer to Kibale forest national park for Bigodi walk experience.

On the 6th day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy your hearty breakfast, after breakfast you will check out from your lodge and then meet your safari guide and then start on your journey to Kibale Forest national park with the en-route game drive to spot the early risers including the lions, buffaloes, elephants, waterbucks, Uganda Kobs and various number of the bird species. After you will exceed with your journey to Kibale. Along the way you will make a stopover and then have the stunning view of the crater lakes, and optional you can visit Amabera Ga Nyina Mwiru and among other attractions with the perfect view of the Mount Rwenzori. After the experience you will proceed with your journey and once you arrive you will check in your lodge and be served with lunch. After lunch you will meet your safari guide and then go for Bigodi swamp walk, this is a community run project that is known for its diverse bird species, as well as primates like black and white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys and among others. After you will return back to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 7: Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale forest national park.

On the 7th day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy your hearty breakfast. After the breakfast, you will check out from your lodge and then meet your safari guide and then transfer to Kanyanchu tourism centre for the briefing about the rules and regulations to follow during the chimpanzee trekking by the experienced park rangers and the park guides. After the briefing you will be grouped in various groups of 6 people and each group will be assigned by the professional park ranger that is familiar with the park trails. You will explore the forest to search for the chimpanzees, and this takes a period of about 30 minutes to 5 hours or more depending on the location of the chimpanzees.

The experience is rewarding in that during chimpanzee trekking you will be attracted with the various plant species, tree species, animal species like the red colobus monkeys, forest elephants, white and black colobus monkeys, pottos, golden monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys and among others, birds species like Great Blue Turaco, papyrus Gonolek and among many others and among many others while looking for the chimpanzees. And once the chimpanzees are found you will be given a period of one hour to be in the presence of the chimpanzees, that is when you will watch the chimpanzees playing, feeding, mothers breast feeding their young ones, mothers grooming their young ones. After the experience you will transfer to the starting point and be awarded with the chimpanzee trekking certificates for taking part in chimpanzee trekking. After the experience you will be transferred to your lodge for relaxation that is moving around the lodge. Later you will be served with dinner, at the lodge and then overnight stay.

Day 8: Transfer to Murchison falls national park for afternoon boat cruise.

On the 8th day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and take breakfast, after breakfast you will check out from your lodge and then meet your safari guide and then start on your journey to Murchison falls national park. The journey drive takes you about 4hr 25 minutes, with the stunning views along the way. Once you arrive you will check in your lodge and enjoy lunch. After lunch you will meet your safari guide and then transfer to the park for the fascinating boat cruise safari experience.

After lunch you will go for the afternoon launch cruise on the along the Nile that offers you the exciting spectacular views at the bottom of the mighty Murchison falls, during the cruise you will sight crocodiles, hippos, water bird species on the river banks like bee-eaters, African fish eagles,  cormorants and others. After the experience you will meet your driver and then transfer to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 9: Game drive and departure.

On the last day of the safari, after the breakfast, you will meet your safari guide and then drive to the park to the delta area and go for the game viewing experience that takes about 3 to 4 hours to spot the incredible wildlife like lions, elephants, Uganda Kobs, oribis, waterbucks, giraffes and various bird species. After the game drive you will start on your journey and then start on your journey to Kampala with the en-route lunch. After lunch your safari driver will drop you off at your convenient place either at your hotel in Kampala or to Entebbe International Airport to catch your flight back home that will bring your safari to the end.
